December 14 2020 was the 61st anniversary of the release of ‘Time Out’, named for its odd time signatures in songs such as ‘Take Five’ as well as ‘Blue Rondo A La Turk’ (the latter in 9/8). It became the first jazz album to sell more than a million copies.
