Over the next two weeks you can watch this programme about Mary. As part of the Music Maker series documenting some of Ireland’s acclaimed artists, the show takes a look at Mary’s extraordinary life – a young, successful singer and harpist in the 1950s, she fell in love, lost the man she married through tragic illness, withdrew to a Benedictine monastery and emerged 12 years later to resume her career with even greater success.
The Mary O’Hara exhibiton at Boston College, MA is also being extended until April. The exhibit – Mary O Hara, Singer and Harpist: A retrospective, honours the recent donation of the Mary O Hara Papers to the Irish Music Archives of the John J. Burns Library.
