‘50 Years On’ presents Darius Brubeck’s articles, musings and lessons based on jazz from 1959, that pivotal year in the genre’s history. Academic and musician, Darius discusses the development of the art-form in this defining, modern period and beyond. Easy lessons explain key concepts and the blog includes some rare photographs.
Darius’ successful musical career, academic background and family heritage – he is the eldest son of legendary jazz artist Dave Brubeck – make him an eyewitness reporter and insightful authority on his subject.
Launching August 2009, the blog will give a musician’s take on the sounds that changed history; music thrilling then and now, 50 Years On.
